Brexit Ware's Union Plate is inspired by the 18th and 19th century Spode designs called 'Indian Sporting'. Its landscape is inhabited by the heraldic beast of the United Kingdom, everyday relationships are strained by the outcome of the referendum. Colleagues, friends and family members shaken and suspicious of one another. New rifts emerge. In the middle distance lions encircle the city of Oxford - a place of learning and experts. On the far side of Hadrian's Wall a Scottish Unicorn turns towards the EU in the East. Each plate comes with a key card that lists some of the design features that record this period of shifting relations.
